Today we have an exciting tour planned that you won't want to miss! We will be exploring the beautiful Tuscan countryside and visiting the historic city of Siena, which is renowned for its artistic treasures and has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
In Siena, we will visit the famous Piazza del Campo, with its unique "shell" shape, as well as the impressive Palazzo Comunale and Torre del Mangia. You will have some free time to explore the magnificent Cathedral and the charming streets lined with impressive buildings and churches.
After our time in Siena, we will take a scenic route through the Chianti region, known for its vineyards and olive groves. We will make a stop at the ancient fortified hamlet of Monteriggioni, a hidden gem dating back to the thirteenth century. Here, we will enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional Chianti products and have the opportunity to participate in a guided wine tasting of fine Chianti and Vernaccia wines, expertly managed by the friendly owner of the estate.
Our next destination is the stunning town of San Gimignano, another UNESCO world heritage site, famous for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including its iconic towers. Here, we can explore the town center, visit landmarks such as Piazza della Cisterna, the Dome, Palazzo del Podestà, and the Church of Sant' Agostino.
Finally, we will make our way to the famous town of Pisa, known worldwide for its magnificent Piazza dei Miracoli, another UNESCO world heritage site. Here, we will be awe-struck by the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Cathedral, and the Monumental Graveyard. These architectural marvels showcase the Romanesque style of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries and house invaluable works of art. Return to Florence.
