Day 1 Mooring St-Léger-sur-Dheune

Welcome to the heart of Burgundy for the start of your Grands Crus cruise. You're welcomed aboard the barge in St-Léger by your private crew, dedicated guide and personal chef. Toast the start of the epicurean adventure with chilled champagne and settle into your beautiful, cosy cabin. Tonight's dinner is hosted by a local wine expert. A superb selection of Maison Drouhin Grands Crus will be the stars of the show. After being introduced to the celebrated terroirs of Burgundy, you will begin your week's tasting experience with Montrachet, Chablis, Clos de la Roche, Mazis-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares.

Day 2 Mooring Chagny

Your leisurely cruise this morning takes you along the beautiful Canal du Centre towards the village of Chagny. En route, you pass through the picturesque Santenay valley, where the hills are swathed in vines. After lunch on board, alight with your guide to visit some of Beaune’s highlights, beginning with a private tour of the Hôtel-Dieu, the architectural icon of medieval Burgundy. This remarkable 15th-century hospital was part of the famous Hospices de Beaune and boasts beautiful, tiled roofs and spectacular paintings. It is here that the world's largest and most famous charitable wine auction takes place each year.

Your next visit is to Maison Joseph Drouhin, where you discover the family’s unique wine cellar, an amazing labyrinth of caves beneath the city of Beaune. A selection of Grands Crus will be served during an exclusive tasting. At this evening’s gourmet dinner, you’ll be introduced to a magnificent array of Burgundy vintages, including Chevalier-Montrachet, Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, Clos Saint-Denis, Grands-Echézeaux and Echézeaux.

Day 3 Mooring Fragnes

After breakfast on board, there is time to relax on the sun deck and watch the scenery drift by. A dip in the on-deck pool is the perfect way to prepare for the adventures ahead, or you may wish to alight at one of the locks and walk or cycle along the towpath. Later in the morning, alight to discover the Côte de Beaune, where a treat awaits at the renowned La Table d’Olivier Leflaive, in Puligny-Montrachet. Enjoy an extensive tasting menu, inspired by the region’s famous wines and local delicacies.

Afterwards, set off on a guided bicycle ride along the famed Route des Grands Crus. Pedal through the vines, visiting the fields of Montrachet and other well-known white Grands Crus. The afternoon ends at a local winery, where you’ll be given the chance to taste exceptional vintages. In the evening, to accompany a sumptuous dinner on board, sample the next tempting selection of Grands Crus: Corton-Charlemagne, La Grande Rue, La Romanée, Charmes-Chambertin and Griotte-Chambertin.

After your visit, continue to the world-famous La Romanée-Conti plot, where you can see the legendary vines in all their glory. Return to the boat to get ready for an extraordinary dinner. Tonight, you are to dine in Philippe and Christine Drouhin’s private cellars at Domaine Drouhin-Laroze, in Gevrey-Chambertin. Can you book my international airfares?

On some Islands Holiday Packages (e.g. Fiji), it is practical to include flights, so where we have done this it is indicated by the plane icon.

However, on the majority of our Holiday Packages, we do not include international flights.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

  • Travel on a specific airline of their choice
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
  • Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
  • Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.

For more information please visit - Before you travel | Entire Travel Group
