Star Clipper is a true clipper ship, reflecting its proud heritage in every inch of polished brass and gleaming brightwork. At 115 metres long, Star Clipper carries just 166 guests in relaxed, yacht-like style.

Expansive teak decks offer more outdoor space per passenger than most conventional cruise ships, with two swimming pools, open-seating dining, a Tropical Bar, Piano Bar, and an Edwardian-style library. Day 1 Civitavecchia | Star Clipper

Make your way to Civitavecchia Port to begin your sailing adventure aboard the Star Clipper, a classic tall ship that combines timeless charm with modern comfort.

Civitavecchia is an important seaport serving Rome, the Italian capital. As a key entry point for Mediterranean cruises and ferries crossing the Tyrrhenian Sea, Civitavecchia offers a gateway to a variety of destinations in Italy and beyond. The city is 70 km from Rome and 62 km to Fiumiccino airport.

Day 2 Ponza

The pastel houses of Ponza Town rise in neat terraced rows from the busy harbour where sleekly groomed yachts and ramshackle fishing boats moor side by side. Happily, there are few tourists here, so it's a delight to wander through the unspoiled town.

Day 3 Amalfi Coast

During the Middle Ages, Amalfi was a powerful republic of 70,000 people, rivalling nearby Ravello. For a sense of Amalfi's medieval glory, wander through the grand Duomo, containing the remains of St. Andrew. Amalfi is a magnificent coastal town offering an enchanting blend of natural beauty, rich history and Mediterranean charm.

Day 4 Lipari (Aeolian Islands)

The Aeolian archipelago is made up of 7 islands of volcanic origin, of which only Stromboli and Vulcano are still active volcanoes. The main island is Lipari, which offers travellers arriving by boat a beautiful panorama of its Acropolis, presided over by the Cathedral. Its marina is bustling with shops, boutiques and stalls... it's an island where life is good.

Barreling under full sail through the narrow Strait of Messina past Scylla and Charybdis, where rock and whirlpool almost claimed Ulysses, you arrive in lovely Taormina. Perched on the shoulder of Mt. Etna, Taormina inspired Goethe to say that'It is the greatest work of art and nature.

Day 10 At Sea

Each Star Clippers ship offers a traditional and elegant way to see the world. Feel the wind fill the sails and gently carry you from one gorgeous destination to the next. During your time on board, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or cool off in one of the pools on the top deck, while more adventurous passengers may enjoy the opportunity to climb the rigging or even have a go at steering the ship. Rovinj is a typical example of a Mediterranean town. The town is dominated by the Baroque three-nave church of St. Euphemia (Fuma). Close to the harbour are the clock tower, the Baroque Balbi's Arch and the former 17th century Town Hall. To the east lies the complex of the Franciscan monastery and to the south, Rovinj's oldest monument, the Romanesque heptagonal chapel of the Holy Trinity.

Day 12 Venice

Arrive in Venice and desembark from Star Clipper, your unique Sailing adventure.

Venice is the heart and soul of romance. Cast your eye on the rounded domes of San Marco, take a deep breath at the Bridge of Sighs, gaze on the golden lions and the Renaissance glories of the Doge's Palace, listen for the ghosts of Verdi, Puccini and Caruso at La Fenice Opera House, gape at the classic Palladian proportions of the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, glide in a gondola down the Grand Canal. And know that love is always in the air in Venice.

Day 13 Venice

After breakfast, enjoy a Venice Walking Tour, from St. Mark’s Splendor to the Rialto Bridge!

Begin in St. Mark’s Square, surrounded by centuries of glory in the Basilica, Doge’s Palace, and Campanile. From here, leave the crowds behind and wander the enchanting labyrinth of calli and campi. Admire the Basilica of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Venice’s “Pantheon of Doges,” and the remarkable Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel, a Gothic jewel.

Step into the Corte Seconda del Milion, where Marco Polo once walked, and pause for a true Venetian ritual: a refreshing spritz at a traditional bacaro. Your path leads to the Riva del Carbon, opening onto a breathtaking view of the Rialto Bridge, symbol of Venice’s mercantile power.

Day 14 Venice Milan

After breakfast, make your way to Santa Lucia train station (approximately 500 metres, about 5–7 minutes on foot) to catch your train to Milan.

Arrival in Milan and private transfer from the rail station to your hotel in Milan city centre.

Free time to visit the city on one’s own. You can discover the most famous symbols of Milan, such as the Duomo, the Castello Sforzesco, the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio and the Navigli, the famous canals, the very hub of the Milanese nightlife. You can continue your visit to the city with an internal visit of the Teatro alla Scala and its museum, a unique experience to visit one of the most famous theatre houses in the world. For the sports enthusiasts, a bike tour Tour is also available.

Day 15 Milan Como Milan

Breakfast at the hotel and then take the regional train to reach Como.

The journey takes about 40 min. Discover the city of Como and its famous lake on your own. A day ticket is included for the hop-on / hop-off public boat to discover the lake departing from Como. You can choose the best stops to get off for a walk according to the departures of the boats and the time of the train back to Milan. Enjoy some free time in Como to get to know the town and shop in the many local boutiques.

Return to Milan in the evening and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 16 Milan Ventimiglia Nice

Departing from Milan aboard an Intercity train bound for Ventimiglia. As the train glides through the Italian Riviera, you’ll be treated to ever-changing views — from the rolling hills of Liguria to the sparkling turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. The route hugs the coast, revealing charming seaside towns, colorful houses perched on cliffs, and fishing boats dotting the harbors.

Upon arrival in Ventimiglia, you’ll change to a regional train that crosses the border into France, following the coastline toward Nice. The panoramic landscapes along this section are simply breathtaking — olive groves, terraced vineyards, and the shimmering sea accompanying you all the way to the Côte d’Azur.

Arriving in Nice in the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore the city. Wander along the famous Promenade des Anglais, admire the pastel-colored buildings of the Old Town, and enjoy a sunset aperitif overlooking the Bay of Angels.

Day 17 Nice Eze & Monte Carlo Nice

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will discover the French Riviera: a full-day tour of the Cote d'Azur takes us to Eze, Monaco & Monte Carlo, Antibes and Cannes.

Upon leaving Nice, we drive up to Mont Alban, with its splendid views over Nice and Villefranche. Then on to Eze, a typical French medieval village, famous for perfume making. You will have the chance to visit one of the perfume factories to see how the local scents are made. From there, we travel to the Principality of Monaco and we will see, from the car, the Old Monaco, the Cathedral, the changing of the guards at noon and the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix Circuit. Next, drive to Antibes, to see the old town, and marvel at the enormous yachts moored at 'Billionaires' Quay'.

Our final visit of the day is to Cannes, where we visit the 'Croisette' to see the prints of some of the famous actors who have come to Cannes for the film festival. We will arrive back in Nice at around 5.30pm.

After breakfast, enjoy a day at your own pace.

As the train approaches Paris, fields and forests give way to the elegance of the French capital, a fitting finale to your unforgettable rail adventure through Italy and France.

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will discover Paris of the Parisian starting from a panoramic roof bus. Specifics commentaries for children who will be able to discover Paris through the commentaries of Lulu and Maurice, 2 dogs who will visit the city.

Then, you will discover Paris from the Seine on board a glass-enclosed boat. Afterwards, you will take advantage of an incomparable panoramic view of the capital while visiting the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower.

Today you will discover the charming Palace of Versailles with his astonishing treasures. Begin the tour in the center of Paris where you'll meet your guide and small group of travelers. You'll board a train together for a short ride into the countryside.

Once at Versailles, you'll skip the line and head right into the Palace. Alongside an expert guide, you’ll visit the incredible gilded palace chapel, the King and Queen’s private apartments and of course, the phenomenal function rooms including the iconic Hall of Mirrors. As you walk, your guide will bring the palace to life with stories of courtly intrigue and royal plots, while also giving you insight into the everyday lives of the people who lived here. With your guide leading the way, they'll give you an introduction to the extravagant Palace Gardens and allow you to wander them on your own.

In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the rest of the royal domain, such as the Gallery of Coaches (open weekends and public holidays) or the Trianon Estate where Marie Antoinette enjoyed her private moments at palaces like Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet. With a roundtrip train ticket to Paris included, enjoy the flexibility of returning to the City of Lights when you wish.

We found that many customers may prefer to:

  • Travel on a specific airline of their choice
  • Have the flexibility to book flights with Frequent Flyer points
  • Select flight dates that may be different to our Holiday Package start/end dates
  • Use a Travel Credit already held with the airline
  • Use their travel agent for this service

We are able to assist with flights on any Holiday Package, so please just notify us during the Book Now process or contact our team.

Should I take travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. During the Book Now process please confirm you require assistance, and our team will be in contact with you.

What should I do before travelling?

Before you travel it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate documentation including visas. If you are travelling on a passport other than Australian or New Zealand, you will require a permit to re-enter Australia. It is your responsibility as the traveller and/or travel booker to meet all government entry requirements.

How do I start a Booking?

  • On any page that has Book Now simply follow the booking process.
  • You must select the Travel Agent tick box and provide correct details.
  • To confirm a booking only the refundable deposit is required.
  • An agency credit card must be used for this initial payment.
